Not influencers who pose with a mask in a pool — divers who can tell us the viz at Devil’s Den last Tuesday.
The DepthThread ambassador program is built for people who actually dive. The questionnaire comes next — in the meantime, send a few lines to the founder. Every email is read personally and answered within a week.
Active Recreational Divers
If you log 20+ dives a year and actually buy your own gear, you are the audience this program was built around. We do not want influencers who pose with a mask in a pool — we want divers who can tell us the viz at Devil's Den last Tuesday and who already know which rashguard holds up after a hundred saltwater rinses. Active recreational divers get first looks at new design drops, free kit for the season, and a direct line when a release does not perform the way we promised. You tell us what the shirt does in the water and we go back and re-engineer it accordingly.
Dive Instructors
Instructors are the people who actually put a new diver in the water for the first time. A tee that holds plastisol ink through six certifications and two hundred pool sessions matters more to you than it matters to us, because we are not the one standing in 78°F pool water eight hours a day in a cotton shirt. Instructor ambassadors get the same early-access and free-kit perks as recreational divers, plus a teacher-tier discount code they can share with their own students — a working referral line, not a generic 10% off. If you teach, we want to hear from you.
Boat Crews & Divemasters
Boat crews and divemasters are the visible face of the operation — the person the customer hands a camera to, the person who briefs the dive, the person who straps a tank on before the sun is up. A DepthThread tee worn by a Crystal River captain reads as a real recommendation, not a sponsored post. Boat-crew ambassadors get early access, free kit for the season, use of the press-kit wordmark for co-branded boat-deck content, and the same direct founder line as the rest of the program. If you run a boat or a charter, you are already doing the work that makes the brand mean something.
Where the brand shows up
On boats, in cenotes, on liveaboards, in the springs.
On Dive Boats
DepthThread tees are stocked on independent dive boats in Citrus County and the Florida Keys, and on charter operations that have asked for co-branded deck-crew apparel. Captains who run the program tell us their crews prefer a heavyweight tee that does not go transparent when wet over the souvenir-stand cotton their passengers usually wear. If you run a boat or work a deck, you probably already know whether the shirt you are wearing is the right shirt for the job.
In Cenotes
Yucatan cenote operators lend the brand out for guided-cavern dives and underwater-photography outings — the print is dark, the cut is loose, and the plastisol ink holds up in hard freshwater with no dye bleed. Cenote guides have told us the shirt photographs better than the lighter competition because the ink does not wash out under a video light. We are not the official apparel of any cenote operation; we are the apparel the guides actually pull on before a cavern dive.
On Liveaboards
Liveaboard crews in the Bahamas, the Galapagos, and the Sea of Cortez rotate DepthThread tees through their onboard wardrobes — the hold is small, the laundry is saltwater-friendly, and one shirt has to do double duty as dive deck, mess hall, and shore-excursion kit. Liveaboard ambassadors help us spec the next rash guard and the next long-sleeve cut, because they are the people whose shirts see the most dives per dollar spent on laundry.
At Florida Springs
Crystal River, Three Sisters, Homosassa, Rainbow, Blue Grotto, Devil's Den — the springs are where DepthThread started and where independent dive shops still stock the brand. Spring ambassadors keep us honest about how the shirt survives a full summer of 72°F freshwater, which is the wash cycle the design lab cannot replicate. If you dive the springs on weekends, you are already in the field-test cohort; this just makes it formal.
